So… I have a week until my birthday. How old? I’m not telling. But I will tell you that I don’t feel older. You could say that it is because of my youth. However, I know that I have been blessed to not live a life where each day takes a toll on my body, mind, and spirit. I am more mature and I have definitely moved forward and made progress in various areas.
Some people don’t take birthdays so seriously. Some people even forget. There are 2 days out of the year where I can almost do whatever I want without question: Mother’s Day and my birthday. Since my mother is still alive and I have friends and acquaintances who celebrate their motherhood with me, I do not have full reign. That makes my birthday even more special. It is the 1 day that I can invest 100% in Andrea and not have to worry about anything or anybody else. Life is a gift and that day is God’s gift to me.
For those who know me, you know I will be celebrating…my life. I am thankful for my existence, connections to others, and the impact that I will have on this world. This year will be my first birthday away from family. It will be me and NYC…such an interesting pair, lol. I always enjoy great company, encourage them to participate in activities, and have a great time for the weekend. So if you are in the area and available, please do not hesitate to celebrate with me! You are officially invited…
I need suggestions for things to do over the weekend, 9/29-10/2. I am open minded and willing to try new things, so send me your ideas. Check out my birthday updates on Twitter and Facebook to see what I decide. Thanks in advance and always take time to celebrate YOU.
Until next week…Andrea
