FFFWeek Recap

I am a bit overwhelmed by my experience at this year’s Full Figured Fashion Week. I attended almost all of the events:  Media/Buyers Reception, Curves at Sea cruise, and the Full Figured and Fabulous Competition.  I also was blessed to walk in the finale runway showcase. I modeled designs from Sonsi, Curvysta Boutique, Queen Grace Collection, Jill Alexander DesignsLane Bryant,
Ashley Stewart, A Clothes Mind.

Not only was that almost half of the show, the selection of pieces gave the audience a spectrum of looks to enjoy (business casual, sexy, elegant, formal, sophisticated, and edgy/rock star). I have to admit that I was nervous. This was my very first fashion show in New York, there were a LOT of important people of the fashion industry in attendance, and it was Full Figured Fashion Week!!!  I met a new group of talented models from all areas (Texas, Florida, Illinois, D.C., Georgia, and even as far as Italy).  Kudos to the Full Figured Fashion week staff and volunteers.  Special thanks to Gwen DeVoe, CEO and Sharon Quinn, Casting Director.  You ladies are awesomely gifted and blessed.

Although I have been a runway model since 2007, I have experienced some firsts with being able to open AND close a show for designers.  I felt so honored to represent big companies as well as intimate boutiques.  It is also great to model clothes that I can afford, from stores where I shop regularly, and that others can see themselves purchasing.  These experiences I will cherish for a lifetime.  Who knows what impact it will have on my plus model career?  I am open to explore and willing to experience ALL that God has for my life. I am so thankful and feel honored to have these memories as part of my history.  God has definitely smiled on me!

Until next time…Andrea
